What we're doing to keep you safe:
At Dental Smiles Purcellville we follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
For your health and safety we have implemented several new protocols that you will experience when it is time for your next appointment. These protocols include:
- Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
- Only the patient should come to the appointment, please do not bring additional family members with you. We ask that you wear a mask in the office until you are seated in a treatment room.
- For minor patients we ask that only one parent/guardian attend the appointment. The parent/guardian will also be screened, also have temperature taken, and we ask that you wear a mask in the office.
- As soon as you enter the office please stop at our hand sanitizing station and proceed to the front desk to check in and have your temperature taken.
- We have installed “sneeze guards” at the front desk.
- Our waiting rooms will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys, or books as those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- Appointment times and lengths will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients and reduce the number of patients in the reception area. This means that we may fewer options for scheduling your appointments.
- In our waiting room and adjacent to our treatment rooms you will see Surgical grade Air Sanitizers please do not touch them as they are actively removing aerosols at all times.
- We will be cleaning and disinfecting the waiting room several times a day
- We will continue to thoroughly clean and disinfect each operatory between patients.
- We will continue to utilize Universal precautions.
- Our team will be wearing a mask and/or face shield at all times and you will see other advanced PPE being utilized for your protection.
